Pro

Cons

Unsustainable: there is no possibility of maintaining this diet long term rather than term weight loss to long, what we do all this?

Could You Fatter: Research shows that we keep the calories efficiently for times of famine prone. IE is losing 10 pounds this week to win £ 12, but over the next two.

Bottom Line

This is a starvation diet, pure and simple. It could be a few pounds short term, but it will certainly hurt in the long run, and is likely to add pounds off rather than messing with the body's metabolism. What works in the long run is a reasonably balanced diet, based on partial control and moderate exercise.

Every diet program has its benefits but at the same they all have their fair share of critics. One thing in common among diet regimens is that all of them can give you the result that you want. This is basically weight loss or fat loss, but they can all fail if the user does not follow the guidelines strictly. All of them require lifestyle changes and discipline. Getting rid of bad eating habits is the first step to start and to commit to a certain diet program.

Medifast belongs to the continuously increasing number of diet programs available that promise fast results (as its name wish to imply). It also has its share of success stories that you can easily find in every Medifast diet review from satisfied users. But, what makes Medifast unique is that it has been around for more than 25 years now. Its staying power is due to the fact that it is well-researched and is backed by scientific studies. Medifast guarantees users to lose as much as 5 pounds in a week. People in the lower end can lose at least 2 pounds.

In a Medifast diet review, you will not only find stories from simple people, who are happy to share the great impact of the program to their lives, but also you can read clinical reviews and recommendation from medical practitioners. Medifast is even recommended to diabetics in order to regulate their weights and sugar level. Eating six times a day will never make you hungry and you will never have to worry about negative effects of overeating.

By taking the replacement food products regularly, the body will enter the state of mild ketosis. This is actually the reason why the body is able to burn all the reserve fats. However, there are some doctors who believe that there are health risks involve in depriving the body with carbohydrates, making the body turn to the reserve fats for energy. It can also result to muscle loss.

The Cabbage Soup Diet Review

One of the most popular diets today is the cabbage soup diet. This article takes a looks at the pros and cons of the diet to help you decide if it is the right diet for you.

The cabbage soup diet is fairly straightforward. It is a 7 day diet aimed at rapid weight loss which claims that you can lose 10 lbs. or more in the 7 days that you are on the diet. There is a special soup that you make using a combination of cabbage and other vegetables. The basic concept of the diet is that you can eat as much of the cabbage soup as you want each day to keep from getting too hungry. There is a 7 day eating plan that goes along with the soup which consists of a highly restrictive list of other foods that you are allowed to eat on the diet.

Although initially the diet may seem like a good idea and the promise of rapid weight loss is certainly tempting, there are quite a few problems with this diet that may not make it the best choice.

First, it is an extremely low calorie diet which can cause problems. Many people report feeling light headed when they are on the diet because they simply aren't getting enough calories. Along with that, eating too few calories can actually make it harder to lose weight and easier to gain it back since it throws your body into "starvation mode". Basically, your body thinks that you are starving so it slows down your metabolism to keep from using your fat reserves for energy in an effort to keep you alive longer. A slower metabolism will make it more difficult to lose weight.

The major problem with this diet aside from having too few calories is that most of the weight that you lose on it will be water weight. That means that the minute you go off the diet you will see the weight you have lost start to reappear. Obviously that's not what you are aiming for, right?

Because the cabbage soup diet is highly restrictive in regards to the types of foods that you eat and how few calories you eat it is very hard to stick with for the full 7 days without cheating or going off the diet. Along with that many people report that the cabbage makes them gassy which can be an embarrassing problem if you have to be out in public during the course of the diet.

About the only good side to the diet is that it includes a lot of fruits and vegetables. However, fruits and vegetables alone don't provide your body with all the nutrients that it needs.
